What A Steal! 50% Discount For City Residents At Oxford Castle - Unlocked
Oxford Castle – Unlocked is the place to be this winter, with all Oxford residents invited to enjoy a fantastic 50% discount at the popular visitor attraction. From 1 November right through to 31 January, residents can claim the discount simply by presenting a document proving they live in an OX postcode.
Michael Speight, general manager at Oxford Castle – Unlocked, commented: “We are proud to be a part of the Oxford community and our 50% discount offer promises to give something back to local residents. We’d love to invite everyone in Oxford to learn about their city’s fascinating history.”
Lying in the heart of the city, Oxford Castle – Unlocked was used as a place of incarceration for 800 years, until the closure of HM Prison in 1996. The old buildings have been preserved and are now open to the public revealing a time capsule – allowing the buildings to tell their story.
Having stood for almost 1000 years, Oxford Castle – Unlocked is also home to St. George’s Tower, which has witnessed more than its fair share of trials and tribulations in the city. Visitors can scale the tower and enjoy tales of murder, romance, betrayal and execution from the site’s costumed tour guides, before venturing to the top of the mound and taking in the breathtaking outlook across the dreaming spires of Oxford.
Oxford Castle - Unlocked is open daily from 10.00am to 5.30pm (last tour 4.20pm). Visitors can book on 01865 260 666 or at www.oxfordcastleunlocked.co.uk
